Blink and you’ll miss it.

It's a driech*¹ day here on New Zealand’s south island. A day which started at 05:30 this morning when I woke from my slumber in a sleeping bag on the passenger side seat of the rental car. It wasn’t the worst sleep I’ve ever had…

This seem's like a very ordinary day, I’ve spent it travelling for the most part, having a nap, nipping to the shop and now writing this.

But its not an ordinary day, it is in fact an important day… I have so far visited 3 countries, 13 regions / states, 13 major cities and numerous more towns and villages along the way. 4 International flights, 8 Shinkansen, 4 regional trains, tens of subway trains, 4 long distance Greyhounds and dozens of local buses. Not to mention the multiple car journeys as a passenger and the 1265 miles (2035 kilometres) I have just done road tripping around the South Island of New Zealand.

My heart is full and I don’t think I will ever be able to fully express how much gratitude I have for this experience.

I have met people from almost every continent… Antartica is proving elusive… have shared laughs, broken bread and most importantly played a whole heap of cards. To any and all who I have met that are reading this, you have in one way or another brightened this trip.

To the people around the world who are tuning in to read the ramblings of this dyslexic, thank you. I hope that I have made you smile and feel like your right here with me.

To my close family and friends of which you know who you are (I hope) thank you for your infinite support, kind words and for not leaving me on my ones, I appreciate you more now than ever.

The adventure continues…
